tsunmedica post for an au in which utajin has a cute kid. with who? mystery. heres your scenarios:
A. Do White Mages have maternity leave?? They do now. It's a bit late along but Utajin's making her preparations for... wherever she's going to have this kid. It sure ain't at home, not with most of the company living in this house. Or maybe she's uh, nesting-- and has rearranged some furniture in or around her room for the seventeenth time.
B. Maybe you've come to visit Utajin wherever she'd gone, whether that's the Steppe(Khona absolutely would have been guilted here. so.) or some other house away from the most of the group of EGG. In any case... well, you know. Come say hi to the tiny hornless one. So far their tiny, soft scales all seem to be a mix of black and white... cute.
C. Oh shit, the kid is here!! (just assume a gender i dont care its pretendy funtimes.) Anyway, they're old enough to start getting into things, but luckily there's like 8 pairs of eyes in this house at any given time so SURELY someone is... preventing them from climbing on things... right?? Where the HELL is your mom, kid.

Date: 2020-03-06 06:03 am (UTC)The Xaela vacated the free company house as a result, and Nokon is keenly aware of the absence of her couch buddy. She's vibrating in place, waiting to visit, but respectful of Uta's space and also just. Terribly awkward.
Kami, though. Being the baby of the family herself, Nokon has never actually seen an Auri infant. And to see one for the first time, up close, as she steps into Uta's abode...they're so small.
They're so small, in fact, she's tearing up? THEY'RE SO SMALL, UTA.]
Uta...oh, Uta. I can still hardly believe it.
[Funny Nokon says that, considering, well. Yeah. ]

Oh, dearest, don't tell me you're crying... come now. Come sit.
[ She gestures vaguely to the couch she's huddled into, babe swaddled and quiet against her chest. For once, Uta doesn't look quite as put together as she usually does; tired eyes and her hair for once pulled back into a ponytail where it can't get in the way. ]

She's quick to acquiesce to Uta's request, regardless, leaving a small amount of distance because she's awkward and because the new mom really does look exhausted. She's not used to that on Utajin...]

She can't help but smile at the thought of Khona tending to Utajin too. Especially with the venom Khona seemed to reserve for the Xaela. She does care!
At Uta's question, she shakes her head immediately, even though Uta can't see the motion.]
Oh, don't worry about us at all. I've been learning myself...and the members we've enlisted are as strange as they are varied in their skills.
[Quietly, she adds:]
If anything...I've been worried about you. So it's good to see you're alright.

But nevermind that. Why should you be worried, dear? Of course I'm alright, aches and pains aside. I will say I'm quite glad you didn't end up in the same predicament.
You should tell me of your studies, though. I'd love to hear of them.
